Tesla has received almost 400,000 pre-orders for the Model 3
This information was revealed by Vice President of Business Development, Diarmuid O’Connell, in an interview with Electrek. This marks another goal met in the quest for 500,000 – 1,000,000 pre-orders that many have talked about. The cool seven figure pre-order would mean this is undoubtedly the biggest/most important product launch in the history of the human race, giving the California based automaker plenty to look forward to.
With the higher than expected numbers of reservations placed, Tesla plans to increase production of the Model 3. Some of this may well come from their claims that the company have learned a lot from the Model S and Model X. The first produced Model 3 vehicles are expected to come out of their factory later next year. They will come with a price tag of $35,000 for the base model. The Model 3 will come will a driving range with a single charge for their vehicles of at least 215 miles (350 kilometers) approximately. This gives owners plenty to travel and enjoy their eco-friendly vehicles in various situations.
Tesla Model 3 will accelerate from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in 6 seconds. We haven’t received any solid information on top speed, but expect it to cross over into the 120mph (200km/h) territory, to give the 3 more than enough arguments in fighting their German and Japanese rivals. While there are other car makers from different countries existing out there today, we still firmly believe that Tesla will have to battle car makers from those companies first and foremost. We’ll keep you updated on pre-ordering details going forward.
